An earthquake measuring 5.5 Magnitude on the Richter scale hit 22 km from Ridgecrest in California, US on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor was centered approximately 10 miles south of Searles Valley in the Mojave Desert around 6:32 p.m.
Many reported feeling the quake in Los Angeles and Orange counties and as far as San Diego.
Nearby aftershocks were reported, coming in at around 2.5 magnitude.
“No reports of damage or injuries. Just the ground shook a little bit. All is well,” LVFR said in a tweet.
