The Hamilton that debuts on Disney+ starting July 3rd is a live-performance film of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ground-breaking, history-making Broadway musical that told the story of Alexander Hamilton (“the ten-dollar Founding Father”) in an electrifying, hip-hop style.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton on Disney+ Hotstar screams for a theatrical release. A film adaptation of the iconic Broadway show created by Miranda in 2008, Hamilton merits a big-screen release for reasons more than witnessing its sorcerous splendour in cinemas.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning musical Hamilton, which debuted on Broadway in 2015, revolves around the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton. The film is a recorded version of the original cast and was originally scheduled for a theatrical release before arriving on the streaming service instead.
Hamilton had originally been scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2021. Then the coronavirus pandemic struck, and the show’s debut was advanced and made available on streaming.
