The Geosea – Geothermal Sea Bath in Húsavík, North Iceland tops the list of places to visit.
Geosea – Geothermal Sea Bath started a few years ago with the site formally opened up its doors in August 2018.
GeoSea has 4 connected geothermal baths that are filled with mineral-rich seawater. The water in the GeoSea baths comes from two drill holes, one is in use at the cheese basin and the other is at Húsavík harbor. No cleaning agents or equipment is needed in the baths, because the continuous flow of water from wells, between pools, over their edges and out into the sea is enough to maintain the health of the water within the required health limits. The water is also at an ideal temperature for such baths or 38-39°C (100-102°F).
The water in the baths will be 38-39°C (100-102°F). Rather than adding chlorine or purifying the water with other chemical or mechanical methods, the designers plan to simply have the flow of water in the baths rapid enough to ensure the water is always clean, freshly extracted geothermal water.
Geothermal water is rich in minerals and has healing qualities, reduce stress, ease muscle aches and help you get better, deeper sleep, especially beneficial for the skin, especially for people with skin problems like Psoriasis. Bathing in this geothermal water is a unique and rejuvenating experience.
Geosea – Geothermal Sea Bath an open view from the cliff over to the North Atlantic ocean and over the bay Skjálfandaflói. Geosea provides best refreshments before you go to the baths, during or after the bath.
