Facebook’s Avatars Launch in the U.S. now expresses your emotions through the generic sad, happy, angry or thumbs up emojis on Facebook.
World’s most popular social networking site Facebook today rolled out its Avatars feature to users in the US this week, after launching it last year in other countries.
Similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji, the feature allows Facebook users to create a cartoon avatar of themselves.
That means millions of users will now be able to build their doppelganger to use in comments and Messenger. The customization options are pretty extensive, so if you want to build a little mini version of you, then you can get pretty close.
“So much of our interactions these days are taking place online, which is why it’s more important than ever to be able to express yourself personally on Facebook,” Fidji Simo, the head of Facebook’s app, said in a post.
Avatars are accessed from the emoji selection menu. Users are then prompted to “Make Your Avatar” and can be accessed via “Avatars” once created.
