Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi: What is ‘Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi’?
Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha is called ‘Sankashti Chaturthi’. When this Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, it is known as ‘Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi’. also known as Dwijapriya Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi.
There are Chaturthi Yoga twice in a month. Both Chaturthi are dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is called Vighnaharta and Dukhharta.
The Chaturthi that falls on Shukla Paksha is called ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ and the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha is called ‘Sankashti Chaturthi’.
The fourth day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Falgun is tomorrow i.e. 2nd March. When this Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, it is known as ‘Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi 2021’. Therefore, this day is called ‘Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi’, also called Dwijapriya Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi.
Angaraki Chaturthi is directly related to Mars. Mars is associated with strength. This year, Angarki Chaturthi has come on March 2.
On this day, devotees worship the Dwijapriya Maha Ganapati which is another form of Lord Ganesha. Here, the meaning of Sankashti is deliverance. Devotees observe fast to have their obstacles removed and their sadness eliminated.
